Power confidence starts with a proper test

Resistive load banks

Controlled testing of power systems under real load — before irregularities can affect the safety and continuity of your installation.

Resistive load banks enable controlled testing of electrical equipment and installations by simulating a real load. They let you verify how a power system behaves in operation and detect potential irregularities before they affect the safety and continuity of the installation.

They prove their worth in regular operational testing as well as during service, diagnostic and acceptance work.

How a load bank works

The principle is simple: electrical energy from the tested source is converted into heat. Everything else is control — over power, temperature and the course of the test.

01

Drawing power from the source

During the test, the load bank draws electrical energy from the power source under examination — exactly the way real loads would.

02

Conversion into heat

Precisely matched resistive elements convert the absorbed energy into heat, while forced airflow dissipates it effectively, keeping the unit stable throughout the test.

03

Stepped power control

The load level is adjusted to the test at hand — the system under test can be observed across operating conditions, from light load all the way to the most demanding trials.

Why use resistive load banks?

Regular testing under load tells you far more about a power source than simply starting the unit with no load. A load bank creates controlled conditions that reveal how the installation behaves in real operation.

  • early detection of problems that only surface under load
  • controlled, repeatable testing of power sources
  • load increased and decreased step by step during the trial
  • effective diagnostics of electrical equipment and installations
  • support for periodic, service and acceptance testing
  • safe dissipation of energy as heat
  • a design ready for demanding technical and industrial applications

Built for demanding duty

Our load banks are designed for safe testing and dependable operation. The resistive elements work with a forced-cooling system that maintains proper operating conditions throughout energy absorption.

  • load sections switched in steps — convenient control over the course of the test
  • protection against short circuit and overload
  • protection against excessive temperature rise
  • supervision of correct ventilation system operation
  • effective thermal insulation
  • painted, corrosion-protected construction — ready for intensive use
